CAN I RECYCLE MY GLASS BOTTLES?
What do you do with your essential oil bottles after you have used them? Many people are not sure, so they throw them in the trash or recycling. In reality, this should not be the case.
Recycling is definitely a good option, but be careful which ones you throw in the recycling or trash. Certain symbols on the bottles mean the contents can be harmful to the environment. This goes not only for essential oils, but also for household cleaning products or any substance classified as a chemical. You can find more information from the BAG / Federal Office for the Environment Switzerland here.
Always check the contents of your essential oils. You can find this under "more info", or directly on the pictograms on the outside of the bottle.
STEP 1: KNOW YOUR SYMBOLS
If you see this symbol, that means that there is flammable liquid inside.
If you see this symbol, that means the contents may be harmful to the environment.
STEP 2: WHAT YOU CAN DO
1. Send us back your used essential oil bottles. We will safely clean them, reuse them and or recycle them for you.
2. Make sure there is no more essential oil inside. Then you can recycle them in the proper glass recycling facility. The plastic caps can only be recycled in certain facilities, so make sure you check first.
3. Creatively reuse your pretty bottles in a DIY project.
